My gosh, where does time go. I can't believe I last updated in August. Somehow I just can't seem to sit and type out things to do with myself lately.

Well, my current life circumstances are as follows. Started university in September at Bradford doing a BSc in Forensic and Archaeological sciences after achieving unexpectedly good A-level results. I'm currently living in an all girls flat in halls with four others, three of which I'll be living with next year and all of whom I adore. Despite my fears that it would not be so, I did manage to overcome my shyness and made many friends, so the trauma of transition was minimal. I just started the second semester. First semester exams were brutal.

My life pretty much consists of sleep, lectures, sitting in the kitchen with flatmates and coffee and the occasional pub trip or clubbing night. I've come to like clubbing a lot more than I used to. Mostly because I dance like an idiot and feel very self concious about it, but it's difficult to feel self concious when in a group of people who also dance like idiots. :P

I managed to leave behind my teenage years yesterday. Whilst I've gotten pretty apathetic about getting a year older lately, my amazing lovely flatmates took me out an I had a great time. We went for a quick meal and saw the Princess and the Frog and went dancing for the first time since before Christmas. It made my birthday feel unexpectedly special. Did I mention I love my flatmates? Because I do.

I was planning on getting my first tattoo today, but.... ugh. Long story short, I put down a deposit at the end of last year and made an appointment. Went to Leeds today for said appointment. Tattoo place was shut. After waiting for approximately an hour, went into the rock/metal store next door to inquire. Tattoo place had been shut for a couple of weeks and the space was up for let. Nice of them to let us know. So, no tattoo for Alli :( But since we went all the way to Leeds fully expecting pain with resulting permanent cosmetic alterations, my flatmate and I got piercings instead. I now have a total of nine piercings in my ears. Still room for a couple more, I reckon :P

Looking into getting the deposit money back, but not holding out much hope, seeing as the guy shut up shop pretty suddenly and the only phone number we have is now non-functional.

SO GUYS, HOW ARE YOU?

I got a summer job in a warehouse for an online clothing store. I'm in despatch, so depending on the day I'll be either picking stock for orders or packing said orders.

Of course, I'm insanely glad to have employment but... I really hate my job. It's physically and mentally exhausting and there's a constant pressure to get things done quickly, all for minimum wage. The shifts are horrible, alternating between 6am-2pm and 2-10pm so even when I get a day off I'm too tired to do anything but sleep. It's been so long since I actually did something fun. I'm actually pretty scared I'm going to spiral into almost!depression like I did just before I 'took a break' from school.

The thing is, I feel guilty about complaining because there are so many people who want this job. Off the top of my head I can think of at least ten people I know IRL that tried to get a summer job but failed. Looking at it objectively, aren't I actually pretty fortunate? Somehow I just can't think of it that way.

Four weeks has never seemed like such a long time.

Insert blaah sickness and assorted whining over assorted symptoms here.

In other news- antirealism@Dreamwidth. IDK what I'll be posting (it was originally going to be a place for me to post various bits of original writing but I changed my mind) but I'll figure something out. Add me if you want.

Now I just have to stop myself thinking about what answers I know I got wrong and what I should have put and generally freaking out.

I am in no way an excessively violent person, but if one more person says anything along the lines of "You mean you're not done with exams yet? Haha, sucks to be you!" to me I swear I will rip their throats out.

Five days til freedom!

I wish exams were over already. I'm just so tired of having my nose in a textbook and my hand is cramping from practice essays and papers. It's even getting to the point where I'm running over facts and figures before I fall asleep and consequently I end up dreaming about revising. No moooore sob :(

Also I wish people would stop telling me I'm done with coursework when I'm actually not, eugh. At least the deadline for sending them to the exam board is in just a few days so I know they can't spring anything on me after that.

Unrelated but... after seeing this strange thing known as Dreamwidth all over my friends page, I have checked it out and am intrigued. If anyone has a spare code they're not using I would be very grateful <3

There's nothing quite as special as waking up in the middle of the night crying with no idea WHY you're crying... and then realising you're in massive amounts of pain because you've just been sleeping on your injured ribs.

And when I say special I mean... actually I can't think of the word I mean (it's the middle of the night and I'm now thankfully doped up on painkillers) but you can probably figure it out.
